A little letter

Hello!

With the show now less than one week away, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the effort you’ve put in over the last few months. I also want to explain the plan for next week and what bits you all need to bring with you on Monday evening.

Firstly, the rehearsal schedule for next week goes like this:

Monday – Tech run – 7.30pm for 7.45pm start
Tuesday – Dress run – 7.30pm for 7.45pm start
Thursday – 7.15pm for 7.45pm start
Friday – 7.15pm for 7.45pm start
Saturday – 7.15pm for 7.45pm start

Please arrive promptly; we need to do full runs of the play on Monday and Tuesday to check everything works and everyone knows what they’re doing!

Costume everyone needs to bring:

Black trousers
White shirt
Black or white t-shirt

Any individual costumes should have been discussed with Judy (if not, do it now!!) and placed on a hanger with your name on it on the costume rail ready for Tuesday’s dress run. If there are any bits of costume that you are sourcing yourself, please bring them with you on Monday night ready for Tuesday so we can start on time.

A date for the AGM will be confirmed over the next week, but I anticipate it will be held sometime in November.

Final and most important point for next week: enjoy it!

Thanks to you all,

Rachel

Fridays @ 19.45

That’s when MADS will be on for the next few weeks. Fridays at 7.45pm.

We had a good turn out again on Friday and we went through the first half in all its glory. We’ll hopefully be doing the same thing this Friday with Act 2.

We haven’t cast the show yet though, so if you know someone who’s interested, it’s not too late!

See you all Friday (at 19.45),
Rach

Last night, last night

So, MADS kicked back off last night. Thanks to everyone who came, it was a great turn out for the first rehearsal!

If anyone couldn’t make it last night and would like to be a part of the show, please come and join us next Friday at 7.45. We’re going to be looking over some of the script and maybe try some of the songs from last night again (could be interesting without the pianist and backing tracks only, but we’ll see how it goes!!)

A couple of people left their email addresses with me to send them the script. If you would like a copy, I can distribute it to anyone in MADS, Let me know your email address and I’ll wing a copy your way. We’ll sort out paper copies in a few weeks.

Until next time,

Rach

First post of **2010**

So, Christmas is well and truly behind us. The Christmas show went really well – hopefully enjoyed by all (including the audience!!) and the panto is now over for another year too.

As anyone who was at the panto on the last night should know, MADS meets again next on Friday 23rd April for a first look at the script and music for later this year. Please come if you’re interested in being involved!

See you all soon,
Rach

Not long to go now!

So the Christmas show is only four days away! The rehearsal tonight went pretty well – we have filmed our segments and the script was projected without a hitch. And costumes have certainly begun appearing, and they look good!

We’re rehearsing on Friday at 7.30pm and then Saturday is the big day!

On Saturday, we’ll be at lea brook from 5pm, food will be served at 6.30pm and the show will start at approx 7.30pm. Please try to be there before half six so we can get things sorted and run through any problem areas one last time!

Christmas Rehearsal 04/12/09

Hello! Another rehearsal tonight then guys. We’re looking to film at least a first cut of the two filmed segments and have a good look at what costumes we’ve already got and what we need.

Martyn is off hobnobbing with the bigwigs this evening, so we’ll just be running the script as much as we can. Trena should be teaching the kids a dance tonight too.

Two weeks to go! x x

Christmas Rehearsal 01/12/09

Hi everyone! We are meeting tonight at Lea Brook at 7.45pm to rehearse for our Christmas Show.

Martyn is with us this evening, so we will run the script and the music together for the first time. I have also started to put together some costumes and props as the performance is only three Saturdays away!!

If you have a speaking part it is important you attend this evening so we can have a proper run through.

Thanks everyone, and see you there!

Rach :)

Christmas Show 2009

For Christmas 2009, we decided to move away from our traditional concert and have a go at a Christmas show. It has been written by Rachel Radford and most of the members of MADS are involved in the production.

“A Black Country Christmas Nativity” tells the story of a group of Black Country tourists who arrive in Nazareth at the time of Mary’s pregnancy. After the collapse of TiptonJet, they find themselves stranded. Nine months later, they are called to Bethlehem for a census and become unlikely onlookers onto the events on the night of Jesus’ birth.

The evening will begin at 6.30pm on December 19th with traditional Black Country food followed at 7.30pm by the show itself.

Ticket information to follow.

Hello world!

Welcome to the blog for Lea Brook Mads!

We hope to keep it up to date with info about how we’re getting on, what’s in the pipeline and who’s who. It will run in tandem with the main website, which is currently in the process of being updated.

Have a look around, let us know if you see anything that needs amending or updating, and we’ll sort it as soon as possible!

Stay tuned for upcoming announcements!
